Polystyrene Pellets
I sent a present to my love
Who lived so far away,
It would take at least a couple weeks to reach her.
So I packed it in its package
To make sure it wouldn't break
In these little things that kind of looked like creatures.
Yes I did, I packed it in polystyrene pellets.
Don't you know I packed it in polystyrene pellets.
Sprinkled below and above
That present to protect our love,
Like little creatures nestled there
To shield that gift from wear and tear.
I packed it in polystyrene pellets.
Yes, I did, I packed it in polystyrene pellets.
As all good things must end some day,
Our love was quickly gone.
Like all our dreams, that gift wound up in fragments.
But those little things I packed it in
Will last forever on.
In our land-fills they'll kind of look like maggots.
Yes, they will, like maggots in sanitary land-fills,
They'll kind of look like maggots in sanitary land-fills.
Unlike our love, unlike a rose,
Those little guys won't decompose.
For centuries they'll last and last
Until they form an ocean vast
Of maggots in sanitary land-fills,
Artificial maggots in sanitary land-fills,
All because I packed it in polystyrene pellets.
Yes, I did, I packed it in polystyrene pellets,
Oo woo woo.
