Night Is Through

A feeling in my bones last night
And a cold wind wouldn't let me sleep.
I can almost see the sunrise now
As it starts to touch the yellow aspen leaves.
When a new world's out there waitin',
You'd better leave that old world while you can.
I could pack my bags and get a truck
And drive off toward some better luck,
But it's high time that I stayed and made my stand.
And she'll be off my mind before the sky turns blue.
Oh, oh, night is through.

The first snow's on the mountain,
And the Yellowstone is running low and clear.
It seems like spring just started.
I can't believe it's been another year.
Guess I'll get up and close the blinds.
It's hard to face that cold Montana sky.
Right now there's nothing for me there,
Besides it don't strike me as fair
That the season turns so bright before she dies.
And she'll be off my mind in just an hour or two.
Oh, oh, night is through.
And she'll be off my mind before this life is through.
Oh, oh.
