Who'll Play the Lead

Up in the Crazy Mountains,
Many, many years ago,
A young man had a vision.
He was Plenty Coups, Chief of the Crows.
All the buffalo ran from a hole in the ground,
And they vanished on the plain below.
Then out came the cattle
To replace the buffalo.

Chorus:
Let's go to town and see a movie.
A western's playin' there tonight.
Six-guns blazed in those glory days.
Just sittin' in a movie show,
One where any fool could know
Wrong from right,
Wrong from right.
'Cause when you get back on your feet,
You never know who's gonna play the lead.
Who'll play the lead.

Up in the Crazy Mountains,
Not so very long ago,
A rancher watched his land and cattle
Vanish down a big black hole.
Some went to the banker,
Some to the Savings and Loan.
Some went to the tax man.
Some was sold for summer homes.

Chorus
