Bad Science Fiction

Bad science fiction in a teenager's dream
Where scientists cackle and space monsters scream.
Bad science fiction you've seen it before,
But when it starts to come true, it gets hard to ignore.
Oh, bad science fiction.

We use flourocarbons to freshen our air,
To make fast food cartons and to spray on our hair,
But we're bound for destruction, least that's what I hear,
'Cause we're bustin' a hole in the earth's atmosphere.
Oh, bad science fiction.

Bad science fiction on late night T.V.
Where chemicals bubble and corpses can see.
Bad science fiction you've seen it before,
But when it starts to come true, it gets hard to ignore.
Oh, bad science fiction.

Imagine a city of celestial light
Where nuclear power plants hum through the night.
Now think of them wiping out thousands of homes
In a horrid fiasco called the China syndrome.
Oh, bad science fiction.

Bad science fiction on the theater screen
Where some maniac dreams upo a doomsday machine.
Bad science fiction you've seen it before,
But when it starts to come true it gets hard to ignore.
Oh, bad science fiction.

Picture a sky full of chemical rain
That drifts from the factories to the mountains and plains
Where it poisons the fish and it kills all the trees.
What once was their life blood becomes their disease.
Oh, bad science fiction.

Bad science fiction in cheap paperbacks,
Published for profit and written by hacks,
Bad science fiction you've read it before,
But when it starts to come true it gets hard to ignore.
Oh, bad science fiction.

Can you imagine in your wildest dreams
A sky full of lasers and partical beams,
All blastin' and zappin at missals galore,
Protectin' or corpses in a nuclear war.
Oh, bad science fiction.

Bad science fiction that couldn't come true.
I'd never believe it, and neither would you.
Bad science fiction you've seen it before,
But when your taxes support it, it's hard to ignore.
Oh, bad science fiction.
