The Forest Circus

Step right up to the big top,
Over here you tax payin' rubes
'Cause right behind this curtain,
You'll see Mother Nature's boobs.
That's right we're gonna strip her
Of her last few virgin trees
So all of us can gawk at her
>From her head down to her knees.

Chorus:
At the Forest Circus, get your tickets at the gate,
But you better make it snappy
'Cause the hour is gettin' late.
Yes, at the Forest Circus, the big top show is on
Here in the land of many uses,
So let's use it till it's gone.

Yes, the logger gets a pittance.
The corporations get a laugh,
While they rake in easy millions,
And tax payers get the shaft.
Yes, government pays business
To clear-cut public lands.
Then business takes the raw logs
And sells them to Japan.

Chorus

Way up there on the high-wire,
It's the wildlife balancing act.
You probably know the outcome,
so you'd better turn your back.
It's survival if they make it.
It's extinction if they fall.
Who cares if there's a profit.
Uh oh, kerplop, that's all.

Chorus
