Favorite Baits
(to the tune of "Favorite Things")
Aerosol cheese spread on boiled Kennel Ration,
Tubes full of maggots bought at filling stations,
On forty pound line using spark plugs for weight,
These are a few of my favorite baits.
Little chunks cut from road-kill that's grown warty,
Marshmallows scented with WD-40,
Big buoyant worms a shot needle inflates,
These are a few of my favorite baits.
When the worm fails, and the minnow,
And not a fish has fed,
I simply remember my favorite baits,
And then I can knock 'em dead.
Trout eggs in cheese cloth fished just off the bottom,
Eyes gouged from perch just as soon as you've caught 'em,
Pools chummed with corn while the fisherman waits,
These are a few of my favorite baits.
Chicken blood mixed with a paste made from Grape Nuts,
Digested pollywogs squeezed out of snake guts,
Some you fish early and some you fish late,
But these are a few of may favoirite baits.
When the wind blows, and the rain falls,
And I'm filled with dread,
I simply remember my favorite baits,
And then I can knock 'em dead.
