Facilitators From the Sky
(to Ghost Riders in the Sky)
As I went to the class room on one dark and windy day,
I spied an old professor; near the podium he lay,
And in the room before him, the students sat in groups,
And roaming out among them, dark figures bowed and stooped.
Chorus:
Yippyio Jean Piaget
Facilitators from the sky.
That old professor moaned out at the students where they sat,
"Don't trust facilitators 'cause you don't know where they're at.
Their problem solving, sentence skills, brainstorming and their tasks
Will minimize the feedback to the questions that you ask.
Chorus
That old professor stood up and his eyes began to glaze.
He knew his days were numbered if he didn't change his ways
To cognitive development, heuristics and the like
Instead of lecture format where the students just recite.
Chorus
Early that next morning as the sun rose on that school,
I looked through the window in the shadows low and cool
And spied a phantom class there, that professor wandrin' through
A collaborative model like facilitators do.
Chorus
