Cowboy's Lament
(to "Don't Fence Me In")

Oh, give me land, lots of land,
Miles and miles of public land,
But don't raise my fees.
Yes, I want land, lots of land,
And I'll pretend it's my own land,
But don't raise my fees.
If you want to make a killin' in the ol' corral, you
Gotta understand my little city pal, you
Can't afford to lease it at fair market value,
So don't raise my fees.

'Cause on the surface, I'm your perfect
Independent cowboy brother.
But in my soul, I'm on the dole
Like inner-city welfare mothers.
So all you tax payin' hunters better pay the piper.
Skeedaddle, you bird-watchers and you back-pack hikers.
And if you raise my fees I'm gonna poop my diapers,
So don't raise my fees.
